Three trims make up the ’24 CR-V’s trim range: the LX, EX, and EX-L. Under the hood of each is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 190 hp and 179 lb.-ft. of torque; it’s mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is optional. With FWD, the 2024 CR-V returns an EPA-estimated 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway, while with AWD it achieves 27 city/32 highway. All trims can even tow up to 1,500 pounds – enough to handle a small trailer.
Despite being the most budget-friendly trim, the base LX is outfitted well, getting remote keyless entry, automatic climate control, auto-on/off LED headlights, LED taillights, and a 7-inch digital gauge cluster. It also has push-button start, a front console USB smartphone/audio port, two 12V power outlets (one in the front console and the other in the cargo area), and a rear seat that splits 60/40-split and has a folding center armrest.
Right in the middle, the EX is improved with a second climate-control zone, heated side mirrors, a moonroof, heated front seats with driver’s power adjustments, Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock, rear privacy glass, illuminated vanity mirrors, and three USB-C charging ports (one in the front console and two in the second row). As the most plus CR-V, the EX-L gets a full complement of upscale features, like a power tailgate, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a driver’s seat with two-position memory, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, leather upholstery, and a wireless phone charger.
Honda includes a host of standard active driving aids on every 2024 CR-V. Those technologies include forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, a driver attention monitor, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, automatic high beams, and a rear seat reminder. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is added to the two higher trims; the EX-L also gets front and rear parking sensors and low-speed braking control.
The default infotainment system in the 2024 Honda CR-V uses a 7-inch touchscreen to manage Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and a four-speaker sound system. The EX adds a third pair of speakers. The top-tier EX-L is the best equipped of the bunch, getting a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone connect, HD radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, and an eight-speaker audio system. Each trim comes with HondaLink remote vehicle services, too, allowing you to keep tabs on your vehicle directly from your smartphone.
