Trims and Mechanical Specs

Buyers of the 2024 Honda HR-V can choose the LX, Sport, or EX-L trim. The powertrain is the same for all three: a 158-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine working with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Front-wheel drive is the default, but all-wheel drive is available. According to the official fuel economy estimates performed by the EPA, an HR-V with FWD achieves 26 mpg around town and 32 mpg on the highway, while the AWD version returns 25 city/30 highway.

Standard Equipment

The entry-level 2024 Honda HR-V, the LX, has a slew of automated features: automatic climate control (single-zone), auto-on/off LED headlights, and power windows with driver’s one-touch auto-up/down. Its other equipment of note includes a 7-inch driver information display, push-button ignition, a tilt/telescopic steering column, three USB ports (one for data and two for charging), and a 60/40-split folding rear seatback. You’ll get a different look with the Sport, as it has a trim-specific grille, rear privacy glass, and a chrome exhaust end. For added convenience and comfort, it has heated front seats, one-touch auto-up/down for the front passenger’s window, Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock, illuminated vanity mirrors, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. At the top of the hierarchy, the EX-L has a moonroof, leather seats, a power driver’s seat, wireless phone charging, heated exterior mirrors with built-in turn-signal indicators, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and ambient interior lighting.

Honda Sensing Driver-Assist Suite

Coming standard on every 2024 HR-V is Honda Sensing. This grouping of advanced active-safety features includes adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking, automatic high beams, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, traffic jam assist, and traffic sign recognition. The EX-L also gets low-speed braking control and front and rear parking sensors. Buyers of the Sport and EX-L have the option of adding blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

Staying Connected

The LX has the default multimedia system: a 7-inch touchscreen that manages smartphone integration (both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and a sound system with four speakers. The system in the Sport trim is the same, but with a third pair of speakers. The EX-L moves up to a 9-inch touchscreen and eight speakers; it also adds wireless smartphone integration, SiriusXM satellite radio, and HD radio.
