The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid is expected to feature a powertrain similar to the one found in the Accord Hybrid and CR-V Hybrid. These models use a hybrid system that combines a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with two electric motors to deliver noteworthy fuel economy and performance. The Civic Hybrid’s powertrain will likely be less potent than the Accord Hybrid’s 204 horsepower, but it should still improve upon what’s offered by the current Civic’s optional 180-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. Although the CR-V hybrid is available with all-wheel drive, the new Civic Hybrid will likely remain front-wheel drive (like the Accord Hybrid).
Honda typically offers hybrid models in various trims to cater to different buyer preferences and budgets. Based on the trim levels available for the 2024 Accord Hybrid and CR-V Hybrid, it is reasonable to expect that the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid will be offered in a similar lineup. This could include a base trim with standard features such as LED headlights, a digital instrument cluster, and Honda Sensing safety technology. The more expensive trims will add features like leather upholstery, heated seats, wireless smartphone charging, a larger infotainment screen, premium audio systems, and a more loaded driver-assist suite.
Design plays a significant part in any vehicle model’s success, and photos released by Honda have made it clear that the 2025 Civic Hybrid will have enough exterior updates to immediately differentiate it from the current model. Among these changes are a wider, more prominent lower air intake and slimmer corner intakes, similar to what you see on the performance-focused Civic Type R. The upper grille may also be revised to reduce the current model’s pronounced hood overhang. A new, hybrid-specific wheel design will probably be introduced to further distinguish the Civic Hybrid from its conventionally powered counterparts.
