Trims, Powertrains, and Configurations

The 2026 Passport lineup has seven trim choices: RTL, RTL Towing, RTL Blackout, TrailSport, TrailSport Blackout, TrailSport Elite, and TrailSport Elite Blackout. They all have a revised 3.5-liter V6 engine (output: 285 horsepower) paired with a new ten-speed automatic transmission. Honda’s second-generation i-VTM4 torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system comes standard, offering 40% more torque capacity and 30% faster response times than the previous version. Every Passport includes an integrated drive mode system with Normal, Econ, Sport, Snow, Tow, Trail, and Sand settings to optimize performance in varied conditions.

The EPA-rated fuel economy for RTL trim variants is 19 mpg in city driving and 25 mpg on the highway, while TrailSport editions return 18 mpg around town and 23 mpg on the open road. Cargo space measures 44.0 cubic feet behind the second row and expands to 104.6 cubic feet (104.4 cubic feet in the TrailSport Elite Blackout) with the second row folded. When the Passport is properly equipped, it has a 5,000-pound towing limit.

Standard Features

The base RTL has leather/cloth upholstery, heated front seats, wireless device charging, a ten-way power driver’s seat, and a four-way power front passenger seat, a power tailgate, tri-zone automatic climate control, LED exterior lighting, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and key fob-activated remote start. It also has rear privacy glass, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient LED cabin lighting, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, four USB ports (two per row), and 18-inch alloy wheels. There are two similar trims: the RTL Towing adds a Class III trailer hitch with a wiring harness, while the RTL Blackout is differentiated from the RTL by black-finished exterior treatments and unique 18-inch alloy wheels.

The TrailSport introduces off-road equipment, including a trail-tuned suspension, all-terrain tires, steel skid plates, LED fog lights, a Class III trailer hitch with a wiring harness, a rear camera washer, and orange-painted recovery hooks. Comfort and convenience features expand to include a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery with orange contrast stitching, power-folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a heated windshield, amber LED daytime running lights, and all-season floor mats. The TrailSport Blackout matches this equipment level while adding black exterior accents and trim-exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels.

Upgrades such as perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated rear outboard seats distinguish the TrailSport Elite. It also gets a hands-free tailgate with walk-away close, five-door proximity keyless entry, a sound-reducing windshield, rear door sunshades, auto-dimming side mirrors, a front camera washer, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The TrailSport Elite Blackout provides the same features with a different exterior look thanks to a blacked-out theme.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

All 2026 Passport trims come standard with the improved Honda Sensing suite, featuring upgraded camera and radar systems. This suite consists of collision mitigation braking (incorporating forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection), lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, and road departure mitigation. The other standard driver-assistance technologies are blind-spot monitoring with lane change assist, cross-traffic monitoring, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, automatic high beams, and front and rear parking sensors. The TrailSport Elite and Elite Blackout gain a surround-view monitor and TrailWatch, a specialized camera system that enables expanded visibility during off-road excursions. All trims have an updated airbag system, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, hill descent control, trailer stability assist, and a rearview camera.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2026 Passport shows off a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is 54% larger than last year’s. This platform has Google built-in services (including Google Maps and Google Assistant), wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, HondaLink smartphone app access, and 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability with a complimentary three-year unlimited data subscription. A nine-speaker audio system is standard in most trims, but the TrailSport Elite and Elite Blackout are upgraded with a Bose unit with 12 speakers.
