Civic Hatchback

The 2026 Honda Civic Hatchback balances versatility and comfort in a compact footprint. With the hybrid powerplant, this five-door Civic also emphasizes efficiency and performance. Honda’s advanced hybrid system promises up to 50 mpg and a zero-to-60 mph time of 6.2 seconds. The automaker adds value to the equation by including Honda Service Pass, which covers oil changes, tire rotations, and multipoint inspections for the first year or 12,000 miles.

This overview covers the 2026 Civic Hatchback. If you’re interested in the Civic Sedan, the Civic Sedan Hybrid, the Civic Si, or the Civic Type R, please see our separate individual pages for those models.

Trims and Powertrains

The 2026 Honda Civic Hatchback comes in three trim versions: Sport, Sport Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid. As the base trim, the Sport gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 150 horsepower, while the two higher trims use a hybridized version of the same powerplant that makes 200 horsepower. Both powertrains have front-wheel drive (FWD) and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). According to the EPA’s official fuel economy estimations, the Sport returns 30 mpg around town and 38 mpg on the highway, while the hybrid trims will give you 50 mpg in urban driving and 45 mpg on the open road. The Civic Hatchback offers 24.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, easily accessed by the rear gate.

Standard Features

The Civic Hatchback Sport comes with proximity keyless entry, LED exterior lighting, fabric upholstery, automatic climate control, push-button start, heated power side mirrors, and a 7-inch driver information display. Its additional equipment includes a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, an electric parking brake with automatic brake hold, two-speed intermittent windshield wipers, rear-seat HVAC ducts, two USB ports, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and 18-inch wheels with a gloss-black finish.

Honda adds premium amenities to the Sport Hybrid, such as a power moonroof, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, variable intermittent windshield wipers, an eight-way power driver’s seat, and a rear-seat center armrest with cup holders. The Sport Touring Hybrid builds on this with leather upholstery, a four-way power passenger seat, a 10.2-inch driver information display, rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and wireless device charging.

Safety Technology

The Honda Sensing advanced technology suite is installed on every Civic Hatchback. This safety grouping compiles forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic jam assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, traffic sign recognition, a rear-seat reminder, and automatic high beams. The Sport Touring Hybrid enhances the standard package with front and rear parking sensors with automatic low-speed braking. A set of airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and a multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines are found on all three trims.

Infotainment and Connectivity

A 7-inch touchscreen anchors the infotainment system in the Sport and Sport Hybrid, while the Sport Touring Hybrid is upgraded to a 9-inch touchscreen. The standard technologies across the trim range include Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and HondaLink smartphone integration. The larger display is accompanied by wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, Google built-in (with Google Maps, other popular apps, and three years of unlimited data), Alexa built-in, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and access to HondaLink subscription services. Audio happens through an eight-speaker system in the Sport and Sport Hybrid. The Sport Touring Hybrid instead gets a Bose setup with a dozen speakers plus a subwoofer.
