2026 Honda
Civic Sedan

For more than 50 years, the beloved Civic nameplate has sold more than 15 million units, making it a top-three best-seller for passenger cars in the U.S. It's also America's most popular vehicle with both first-time buyers and Gen Z drivers, which is a testament to its broad appeal and lasting value. The 2026 Civic Sedan brings its signature style, efficiency, and reliability into the new model year with no significant changes, after a round of updates last season. Note that this page focuses on the gasoline-only 2026 Honda Civic Sedan; the 2026 Civic Sedan Hybrid gets its own overview.

Mechanical Details

The two trim levels for the strictly gasoline-burning ‘26 Civic Sedan are called LX and Sport. Their powertrain is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drivetrain. This configuration makes 150 horsepower, and EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 32 mpg city/41 mpg highway for the LX and 31 city/39 highway for the Sport.

A drive mode selector is included to tailor performance response to specific on-road situations. The LX offers Normal and Econ settings, while the Sport adds a mode bearing the trim’s name. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters are exclusive to the Sport and allow for a more customizable driving experience with manual gear changes.

Standard Equipment

The LX has cloth upholstery, power side-view mirrors, push-button ignition, auto-on/off LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights and brake lights, intermittent windshield wipers, automatic climate control, a 7-inch TFT meter, two front USB ports, a 12-volt power outlet, a one-piece fold-down rear seatback, and 16-inch wheels with covers. The Sport is upgraded with Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock, red ambient interior lighting, sport pedals, a chrome exhaust finisher, heated power side-view mirrors, 18-inch gloss-black alloy wheels, and a 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback with a center console and integrated beverage holders.

Advanced Safety Technology

The Honda Sensing suite lays a solid foundation of safety for both Civic Sedan trims. This tech array consists of automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, road departure warning, forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking, and traffic sign recognition. Rear seat reminder also comes standard, while the Sport gains a blind-spot information system with rear cross-traffic monitoring.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Multimedia for the 2026 Civic Sedan is housed within a 7-inch touchscreen. The LX gets a 160-watt sound system with four speakers, while the Sport upgrades to a 180-watt setup with eight speakers. Both trims have Bluetooth HandsFreeLink and streaming audio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a radio data system, and access to the HondaLink app and its subscription services.
