The 2026 Honda HR-V offers more comfort and convenience than its predecessor while maintaining the practicality that made it the top choice in its class among first-time buyers. For 2026, Honda’s subcompact SUV has been granted a larger infotainment touchscreen, with all trims now outfitted with the 9-inch touchscreen previously reserved for the EX-L. This latest HR-V is also equipped with standard wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, as well as wireless smartphone charging. Standard equipment for the top-of-the-line EX-L has been expanded with front footwell lighting and silver steering-wheel accents, while the Sport gets black liftgate badging. All 2026 HR-V trims now also come with rear privacy glass for added comfort. The entire lineup receives new wheel colors for this model year, and the EX-L’s wheels are now 18 inches instead of 17. The LX and EX-L are eligible for a new paint color called Solar Reflection Metallic, while Boost Blue Pearl tone is available only on the Sport.

Trims and Powertrain

The 2026 HR-V comes in a choice of three trim packages: LX, Sport, and EX-L. The inline 4-cylinder engine produces 158 horsepower and pairs with and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to complete the powertrain. Fuel economy with the standard front-wheel drivetrain (FWD) has been estimated by the EPA to be 26 mpg in city driving and 32 mpg on the highway. With the available real-time all-wheel drivetrain (AWD) with Honda’s Intelligent Control System, that changes to 25 city/30 highway. All trims come with a drive-mode selector with Econ, Normal, and Snow settings.

Standard Equipment

The LX is a generously outfitted base trim with the 2026 model-year additions of wireless smartphone charging, wireless smartphone integration, rear privacy glass, and a 9-inch touchscreen multimedia system. It also has a cloth interior, manually adjustable front seats, automatic air conditioning, a 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, power-adjustable side mirrors, three USB-C ports (two charging, one data), a 12-volt power outlet, speed-sensitive volume compensation, Active Noise Cancellation, automatic on/off LED headlights, LED taillights, LED turn indicators, LED daytime running lights, LED brake lights, an acoustic-glass windshield, push-button ignition, remote entry, an auto-up/down driver window, one-touch turn signals, electrostatic touch second-row reading lights, a capless fuel filler, and 17-inch Pewter Gray alloy wheels.



The Sport adds heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, heated side mirrors with integrated turn indicators, Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock, a trim-exclusive grille and chrome exhaust, gloss-black exterior accents and badging, illuminated front vanity mirrors, and 18-inch Berlina Black alloy wheels.



The EX-L gets the most amenities with leather upholstery, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a one-touch power/tilt moonroof, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dynamic climate control knob illumination, silver steering wheel spokes, front footwell lighting, and 18-inch machine-finished alloy wheels with Berlina Black inserts.

Driver-Assist Technology

Every 2026 HR-V comes with elements of the Honda Sensing safety-tech suite, with every trim getting automatic high beams, a driver attention monitor, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, road departure mitigation, and collision mitigation braking. The Sport adds a rear cross-traffic monitor and a blind-spot information system, while the EX-L has front and rear braking sensors, as well as low-speed braking control. All three trims are equipped with vehicle stability assist with traction control and a rearview camera with dynamic gridlines.

Infotainment and Connectivity

As we mentioned, even the base HR-V now has a 9-inch touchscreen multimedia setup with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, as well as Bluetooth HandsFreeLink smartphone function and streaming capabilities. The audio system is 180 watts across the lineup, with speakers added as the trim rises: the LX has four speakers, the Sport gets six, and the EX-L receives eight. All trims are set up with HondaLink Basic, allowing drivers to request 24-hour roadside assistance, schedule service appointments, view vehicle guides, and receive recall notifications.
